Paralegal Bachelor and Associate Degrees and Certificates


Prepare for a rewarding legal career. At Minnesota School of Business-Rochester, we prepare paralegal students to assist attorneys in the delivery of legal services. As employers work to control the cost of providing those services, the demand for well-trained paralegals is expected to grow.

Choose a 2-year, 4-year or 9-month program. By offering associate, bachelor's and post-baccalaureate certificate programs, we help our students achieve their academic and professional goals as efficiently as possible.

Paralegal program highlights

Bachelor of Science in Paralegal. Many employment postings for paralegals require bachelor's degrees. This program can be completed in 36 months of full-time study, culminating in an internship. Graduates have practical experience in all tasks ordinarily assigned to entry-level paralegals, as well as advanced training in critical communication and analytic skills.

Associate in Applied Science in Paralegal. In 21 months of full-time study, students get skills for entry-level paralegal positions. They practice interpreting and applying legal terms, principles and procedures, performing legal research and analysis, preparing legal documents and upholding ethical standards. In the final quarter, students that training in an internship.

Post-baccalaureate Paralegal Certificate. This 9-month program provides paralegal training that complements students' diverse skills and knowledge. Students learn legal theories and perform practical simulations of legal services.

Career potential. Paralegals with bachelor’s degrees generally receive higher salaries and are assigned higher levels of responsibility than those with associate degrees or no degree. Many students complete an AAS degree, enter the workforce, then return to earn a BS degree.
